According to Europol, Ivančuks has been on the Most Wanted list since September 2022 and is suspected of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
"Organised crime group member IVANČUKS f/n Romāns in 2019 was involved in unauthorised acquisition, storage and forwarding of narcotic substances (cocaine) through several countries for the purpose of disposal and unauthorised disposal," says his Most Wanted listing.
Meanwhile Rusiņš' case scandalized Latvia earlier this year.
"RUSINS f/n Leons is found to be the suspect for the murder with particular cruelty. On 16.04.2023. in Latvia, Jekabpils region RUSINS blocked the road in front of the car driven by his ex-wife, son and ex-wife's mother. RUSINS smashed the door window of the car and in presence of his minor son and ex-wife's mother inflicted several opened-chop, stab-wounds dangerous to life in the area of face and neck, which directly resulted in death of his ex-wife," says his listing.
Following the murder, many people assumed that Rusiņš had immediately done away with himself – however, his body has never been found and it remains a distinct possibility that he remains at large somewhere.
