According to the prosecutor, one of the men incited the other, a minor, to kill his ex girlfriend.
The organizer, who incited the murder, effectuated the scheme in February 2019. He wrote to his acquaintance on social media, offering a reward for killing the young woman. The other contacted the young woman and met her in Rīga. He went to the meeting under the influence of drugs and lied to get into the girl's apartment. When the young woman sat down on a chair, the defendant stabbed her repeatedly and did this about 40 times more after she had fallen, until she died.
Before this, the organizer had also incited his acquaintance to steal a mobile phone.
The two face lengthy jail sentences under a number of criminal offences.
