The total amount of the contract is USD 179.8 million (approximately EUR 164 million).

Christopher T. Robinson, the US ambassador to Latvia, expressed confidence that the HIMARS system will play an important role in preventing aggression and protecting Latvia.
HIMARS are high-precision missile artillery systems with a range of about 300 kilometers using “ATACMS” missiles, part of the contract.
In addition, training, ammunition and other support equipment will be provided to the National Armed Forces in order to allow Latvia to fully utilize the functions provided by the HIMARS.
It is planned that Latvia could receive HIMARS systems starting in 2027.
Latvia has made unprecedented investments in strengthening defence capabilities this year, signing contracts for both the purchase of IRIS-T anti-aircraft protection systems and the purchase of Naval Strike Missile anti-ship systems.
