About 1,200 soldiers will participate in the exercise, whose main task will be to test the combat readiness and cooperation capabilities of all members of the Battle Group, according to information from the Latvian military.
The multinational battle group in Latvia is led by Canada and consists of more than 1,700 soldiers from 11 countries: Albania, the Czech Republic, Italy, Iceland, Canada, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and North Macedonia.
Allied soldiers will participate in joint military exercises with the Latvian National Armed Forces, improving interoperability.
During the training period from July 24 until 28 training ammunition and flares will be used, and local residents are asked to take a sympathetic attitude to any possible disturbance, as they are geared towards enhancing national security.
