42 attempts to cross Latvia-Belarus border prevented Wednesday

On Wednesday, January 5, the border guard prevented 42 people from crossing the Latvian-Belarusian border.

Since the announcement of the state of emergency on the Latvia-Belarus border August 10, the Border Guard has prevented 4,291 persons from crossing the border.

Six persons were detained having crossed the border illegally. The border guard allowed these people in on humanitarian grounds.

Since the announcement of the state of the emergency, 100 people have been allowed to cross the border citing humanitarian reasons.
