500 American and British paratroopers drop in

Early June 9, 500 American and British paratroopers, flying direct from the U.S., performed a descent at Adaži base just outside Rīga as part of ongoing "Swift Response 2018" training exercises.

Eight U.S. C-17 transport planes arrived from Fort Bragg, North Carolina and dropped more than 500 soldiers from the 82nd Air Amphibious Division and the British Parachute Regiment.

Swift Response 2018 continues until 15 June, with approximately 2,300 participants from NATO member states and partner countries including the United States, Israel, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

The training takes place in Poland, Latvia and Lithuania.
