Since the announcement of the state of emergency on the Latvia-Belarus border August 10, the Border Guard has prevented 4,216 persons from crossing the border.
No persons were detained having crossed the border illegally.
446 persons have been detained for illegally crossing the border in 2021, 295 of which came in the timeframe from August 6 to 10, and 94 of which came after the announcement of the state of emergency. In 2022 nobody has yet crossed the border illegally.
