Another 46 tried to cross Latvia-Belarus border Thursday

On Thursday, January 27, the border guard prevented 46 people from crossing the Latvian-Belarusian border, the exact same figure as Wednesday.

Since the announcement of the state of emergency on the Latvia-Belarus border August 10, the Border Guard has prevented 5,340 persons from crossing the border.

One person was allowed to cross the border on humanitarian grounds. This person was subsequently detained for illegal border crossing. 

Since the announcement of the state of the emergency, 111 people have been allowed to cross the border citing humanitarian reasons.
