'Iron Spear' tank exercises next week in Latvia

From November 14 to 16, the military exercises "Iron Spear 2022" led by NATO's battlegroup in Latvia will take place at the Ādaži training ground, where 34 teams from 13 NATO member states will test the mobility, cooperation and interoperability of armed forces units in a firepower demonstration.

The "Iron Spear 2022" exercise will be attended by crews of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles from NATO's battlegroups in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland, as well as Latvia's own Mechanized Infantry Brigade.

The teams will be represented by representatives of the armed forces from the USA, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Canada, Latvia, Great Britain, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and Spain.

November 15 will see eercises taking place in both daylight and the dark, so local residents are being asked for an understanding attitude while the heavy metal is whizzing around the ranges.
