Major October conference dates announced

October promises to be a busy month for those of a geopolitical mindset with two major conferences set to take place in Rīga.

The Rīga Conference has confirmed its 2022 dates as October 21 and 22. The annual gathering presents dialogue on international security issues. The event is organized jointly by the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation (LATO), the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A week before that on Octover 13, the NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) takes center stage when it hosts its annual "Emerging Trends in Social Media" Conference.

"This year’s iteration of the conference will explore on how governmental organizations and private actors can get strategic communication right using social media. Among other topics, we will focus on how we can translate academic and theoretical knowledge into a practical setting, how we can operationalize strategic communication in governmental governance, lessons learned from theatre and best practices from the private sector on how to use social media effectively as well as with a thought of ethics," says STRATCOMCOE in advance publicity materials.

The agendas and registration details for both events have yet to be released.
