390 persons have been detained for illegally crossing the border this year, 295 of whom came in the timeframe from August 6 to 10, and 38 of whom came after the announcement of the state of emergency. They were not prevented from crossing the border, citing humanitarian reasons.
On Monday, October 4, another 24 people's attempts of illegally crossing the Latvian-Belarusian State border were prevented. No people were detained for having crossed the border illegally.
