The proposa provides for the establishment of a separate financial program to support border local governments with specific status for national security reasons. Despite the fact that the number of pupils meeting the quantitative criteria for maintaining high schools will not be reached in these municipalities, they will be able to be maintained. At the same time, these schools will have to provide students with the same quality educational opportunities as elsewhere in Latvia.
The Ministry presented the proposal by discussing with the social partners the network of schools and an effective financing model for the remuneration of teachers, for which the Ministry is preparing an informative report to the government.
