The first place among Google searches in Latvia this year is taken by the coronavirus, followed by Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).
Those are tailed by US elections 2020, video calling application Zoom and interactive lottery game "Skrāpē un laimē" (Scratch and win).
Regarding events, the most popular this year in Latvia have been Rīga festival, Shadow day (career day for pupils), Black Friday sales, Rīga Council election, and cultural event White night 2020.
In the recipe category, the throne is taken by marrow/zucchini recipes. In true Latvian fashion, next come fungi in the form of chanterelle sauce.
These two are, of course, followed by dessert: cookies, oat cookies, and rhubarb cake.
