More than 400 schools will receive state-funded technology for remote learning before Christmas, said Education Minister Ilga Šuplinska on Latvian Radio December 16.

She said all computers have been received and accounted for. Until Christmas, they will be distributed to municipalities and travel further to schools.

Schools will be able to choose how to use them - whether they remain at school or go to pupils and teachers.

Education Ministry is also working on improving Internet speed at schools.

As reported, many pupils and teachers lack technology to access remote learning process. First computers were already received by the state in early December.
