Ukrainian civilians will be exempted from study fees at the University of Latvia (LU) at 100% during the autumn semester, LU said July 13.

The provision of individual support to students, lecturers and researchers addressing LU will also continue. Each case is assessed individually in search of the best solutions for both sides, the university said.

The university's website has also set up a section titled “LU Support for Ukraine.” It provides information on available support in Latvian, English, and Ukrainian languages.

According to LU Rector Professor Indriķis Muižnieks, LU has very close and productive cooperation with a number of Ukrainian universities: "We are helping to ensure the continuity of studies for Ukrainian scientists and students. I am grateful to all university students and employees who, with their civic posture, social activity, and also with donations, support Ukraine's fight against aggression."
