Activities that have won the highest number of votes as a result of the survey will be included in the concept of the second round of the project, respecting existing trees and taking into account other circumstances.
Options offered to citizens include a beach volleyball court, strength exercise equipment, a running track, street basketball court, an obstacle track, a cycling path, "water elements" for children, a net park, a fountain, a sundial, a dog walking yard, additional greenery, showers and changing rooms, and a cafe area.
You can cast three votes for your preferred objects here.
The mandatory project activities currently scheduled for the second round of the project are:
- a basketball court,
- a network of walkways with replacement of the lighting of the paths constructed in the first round,
- construction of a toilet,
- installation of free taps,
- creating a pavement along Uzvaras Boulevard,
- placing of obstacles to road transport at the main entrance to the park,
- construction of a skatepark.
“We have collectively got rid of the occupation and landscaped Uzvaras [Victory] Park in the first round, reclaiming the true historical meaning of the park, named 100 years ago in honor of the victory of the Latvian Army over the Bermondt affair. We have recovered the Victory Park for Riga, Latvia, and the Latvian people. It is a pleasure that we can move on and give the park an additional sports dimension now in the second round, envisaging more recreational opportunities,” said Edvards Ratnieks (National Alliance/LRA), deputy chairman of Riga City Council.
The total improvement area of Victory Park for both rounds is 14 hectares.
