As a result of the storm, 54 municipalities and 2,500 households experienced damage. The most, or 1,600 damaged properties are in Dobele, elsewhere at a smaller level.
"Of course all these households have to be recounted, and this will be done by municipalities, because someone might have added damaged barns. We can't help with absolutely everything, but the [repairs of] the main housing will really be supported," Sprindžuks said.
For some, state aid would only help partially to tackle the damage. “However, it's the way we go forward before winter,” he added.
