Hunters in Latvia will have to use app in future

From April 1, hunters will have to register all hunted animals in the “Mednis” app, the State Forest Service (VMD) said.

The new 2024/2025 hunting season will begin on April 1, bringing significant changes to the order in which information on hunted game species will circulate on the hunting farm. Under the changes to hunting regulations, the mobile app “Mednis” will become a tool that will virtually replace both physical registers and the obligation for hunters to prepare and send VMD reports on the use of tighteners and animals hunted.

From April 1, all animals hunted will have to be registered in the Mednis app.

In the context of the changes, an online workshop is organized on March 27 at 13:00 for representatives of hunting teams. A recording will also be available later.

VMD invites you to email: [email protected] to send current questions about changes to hunting regulations and the use of the “Mednis” application.
