Black stork back on cam for the season

One of the Latvian Fund for Nature's live cameras shows the nest of a black stork. Last week, a male bird returned to the nest and is waiting for a partner, Latvian Television reported on April 26.

As the stork returned from warmer lands to the nest in Ogre municipality, he started checking for repairs to be done. Then, for a couple of days, the bird brought building materials and fixed the place up before his mate arrives.

A female did come and check out the moss-upholstered apartment on a large, old tree but seemingly it did not satisfy her, as the male has been alone for several days now, waiting for someone who would share his sense of style. Last year, three storklings grew up in the nest.
