"There are people who would like to see the streets completely clean, down to the concrete. It must be understood, however, that, in order to do this, it would be necessary to clean out not 3,500 loads of snow but 10,000 loads of snow. Instead of 5,500 tons of salt, 10,000 tons of salt should be needed," Staķis said.
This would have spent all the money intended to clean up the snow. But it must be borne in mind that snow can fall in January and even in March.
According to Staķis, the main setting is for Rīga is that it is possible to drive through. There are possible discussions about the volume of snow in the streets, but traffic should not stop.
