“For the delicate intervention and treatment of the historical substance, the revival of old Riga and clever dialogue with modern architecture. For the masterfully done planning and intricate detailing in a complicated situation,” were the words chosen by the Final jury members Andro Mänd (Estonia), Gustė Kančaitė (Lithuania), Octavio Mestre (Spain), and Brigita Bula (Latvia) to characterize the winning project.
For the tenth year in a row, a jury of children gave an award to the best object from their perspective. Latvian Architecture Award ZIRNIS. This year the award was given to “Hanzas Perons”.
The Latvian Architecture Award (LAA) is a prestigious award that not only accentuates outstanding achievements in Latvian architecture and cares about the development of the industry, but also promotes public awareness of architecture. This year, the award will take place for the twenty-fifth time, and it has been recognized as a nationally important event, but the prize itself is the highest appreciation in Latvian architecture. Latvian Architecture award is organized by the Latvia Association of Architects.
