Of the newly-confirmed cases, 752 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 1,691 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 8,590 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 28.4% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population declined further from 2,311 Tuesday to 2,169 Wednesday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 796,890 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Unfortunately, 12 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, with the youngest victim aged just 30-39. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 5,593.
Wednesday hospital data from the National Health Service show 904 patients being treated in hospitals. 119 patients were admitted and 127 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 26 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

Another hotline – 8989 – which allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
