Of 3,128 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 5.8% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population dropped from 534 Saturday to 522 Sunday.
Two more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. Both of the fatalities were aged over 50 years and both were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,579.
Sunday data from the National Health Service show 498 patients being treated in hospital with 74 displaying serious symptoms.

In the other Baltic states, Estonia reported 429 cases and no deaths while in Lithuania there were nearly 1,149 cases and 16 deaths.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
