Of the newly-confirmed cases, 640 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 1,365 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 7.443 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 26.9% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population declined further from 2,169 Wednesday to 1,997 Thursday. It is the first time that particular metric has been below 2,000 since January 20.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 798,895 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Unfortunately, 8 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All fatalities were aged over 60 years. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 5,601.
Thursday hospital data from the National Health Service show 880 patients being treated in hospitals (down on 904 the previous day). 98 patients were admitted and 103 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 28 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

Another hotline – 8989 – which allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
