Of the total number of positive cases, 242 were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 69 were fully vaccinated.
The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 144,943.
Of 45,396 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 0.7 % were positive.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose from 185.6 Monday to 193.1 Tuesday. That means the current Covid threat is still rated 'red' or 'high' according to the official four-color traffic light system, but likely to cross back into 'dark red' or 'very high' classification in the next day or two, as 200 is the threshold.

Sadly, four additional Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, all of persons aged 60-79 years. The death toll since the start of the pandemic stands at 2,592.
There are currenty 195 patients receiving treatment for Covid-19 symptoms in Latvian hospitals. Of that number 28 are showing serious symptoms.
On September 6, a total of 1,734 people received a first vaccination against the coronavirus and 1,701 received a second dose. In all, 776,669 people have now completed a course of vaccination in Latvia.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv/.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme.
All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
