The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 146,800.
Of 40,979 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 1 % were positive.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose again from 238.4 Friday to 247.0 Saturday, taking morbidity deeper into the 'dark red' or 'very high' risk classification, the highest of the four alert categories under the 'traffic light' system.

Unfortunately, five more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, of persons in the age range 60-99 years. The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 2,607.
On September 10, a total of 2,565 people received a first vaccination dose and 2,420 received a second dose. In all, 786,931 people have now completed a course of vaccination.
238 patients are currently being treated for Covid-19 symptoms in Latvian hospitals. Of that number, 24 are displaying serious symptoms.
Meanwhile, in Estonia 493 new Covid cases were registered and in Lithuania more than 1,000 new cases were recorded.

All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
