458 Covid cases Sunday in Latvia

On April 10, 2022, Latvia recorded 458 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the latest figures from the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).

Of the newly-confirmed cases, 147 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 311 were fully vaccinated.

Out of 2,475 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 18.5% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population continued to decline from 996 Saturday to 960 Sunday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 808,799 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

One more Covid-related death was also confirmed, of an individual aged over 80 years. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 5,664.

Sunday hospital data from the National Health Service show 547 patients being treated in hospitals. 40 patients were admitted and 18 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 22 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

A hotline – 8989 – allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate. The number for medical emergencies is 113.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme
