Of the total number of positive cases, 380 were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 79 were fully vaccinated.
The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 145,402.
Of 52,580 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 0.9 % were positive.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose from 193.1 Tuesday to 204.2 Wednesday, taking morbidity above the 200 cases threshold and into the 'dark red' or 'very high' risk classification, the highest of the four alert categories under the 'traffic light' system.

Sadly, three more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, all of persons aged 70-89 years. The death toll since the start of the pandemic stands at 2,595.
There are currently 206 patients receiving treatment for Covid-19 symptoms in Latvian hospitals. Of that number 30 are showing serious symptoms.
Meanwhile, in Estonia 488 new Covid cases were registered and in Lithuania 854 new cases were recorded.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv/.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme.
All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
