Of the newly-confirmed cases, 4,407 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 7,390 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 26,506 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 42.1% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population hit another record high, rising from 6,576 Thursday to 6,741 Friday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic 500,126 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.
Twenty Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All of the victims were aged over 50 years. Seven of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,007.

Friday data from hospitals from the National Health Service show 1,126 patients being treated in hospitals (up on 1,104 on Thursday). 156 patients were admitted and 114 discharged during the previous 24 hours. 73 patients are displaying serious symptoms.
