80% vaccination proportion among seniors in Latvia

Vaccination against Covid-19 in the population group over 60 years is 80.6%, which is a higher rate than in general society, Health Minister Daniels Pavļuts said at the government meeting January 6.

So far in Latvia, around 66.9% of the total population have completed vaccination. 

Meanwhile, among the elderly, the vaccination coverage is 80.6%. Dividing by age group it is the following:

  • 60-69 years - 84.5%
  • 70-79 years - 81.1%
  • 80-89 years - 73.9%,
  • 90 and over - 57.1%.

Overall, there are still more than 102,000 seniors in Latvia who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to Pavļuts.
