Another suspected fake Covid vaccination case in Latvia

Take note – story published 1 year ago

On Monday, May 9, the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) asked to prosecute a medical worker on suspicion of carrying out fake vaccination against Covid-19.

Evidence from criminal proceedings shows that a medical worker employed at a mall has carried out fake vaccination against Covid-19 and has taken the necessary steps to ensure that information on the fact of vaccination is entered into the “e-health” system and that the people receive an interoperable certificate.

The KNAB has evidence that the worker could have carried out the fake vaccination for 11 people.

During the criminal investigation, the KNAB has obtained information about a further 320 persons who may have been fake-vaccinated and received interoperable certificates, and the information was sent to the State Police in accordance with institutional competence.
