Around 500 customers and employees of social care centers were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Latvia last week, Welfare Minister Ramona Petraviča told Latvian Television February 15.

Vaccination against Covid-19 in social care centers began last Wednesday, February 10. More than 8,000 customers and more than 2,700 employees have agreed to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

"Vaccination is continuing this week, and I hope that this week vaccination will go faster, at higher rates, and it is likely that all social care customers and employees will receive the vaccine – those who have wanted it – during this or next week, " said the Welfare Minister, adding that the number of vaccines is currently sufficient.

Petraviča said that the Ministry of Welfare (LM) has asked the Ministry of Health to prepare informational video materials that could be shown in social care centers in order to encourage customers and employees to vaccinate against Covid-19.
