Take note – story published 3 years ago

The Latvian Health Ministry said August 11 that as from August 17, up to 1,000 people will be allowed to gather indoors, while catering venues will be allowed to work until 2 AM.

From Monday, eight people who are not members of the same household will be allowed to sit at one table indoors. Outdoor tables will have no limitations. Two-meter distance between tables shall be preserved.

Catering sites will be allowed to work until 2 AM instead of midnight. This rule applies to venues where catering is the main service and people sit at tables. Cultural, sports and religious venues where the flow of people is organized will also be able to work until 02:00.

However, other entertainment sites, bars and night clubs will still be allowed to work only until midnight. the Health Ministry said these venues are linked to high risk of COVID-19 spread.

Events will have to ensure a space of 3 square meters per person instead of the current 4.

The rule of not exceeding 50% of venue capacity remains, but an exception applies to events where people are in allocated seats, such as cinema or theater. Such events may accommodate people in groups of up to 300.
