COVID-19 case total for Latvia increases by 208

Latvia recorded 208 new cases of COVID-19 November 10, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC), bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 8,395.

Of 6,731 tests carried out in total, 3.1% were positive, down on the 3.8% rate the previous day.

Two deaths were also recorded, one victim aged 75 to 80 and one aged 85 to 90.

So far 1,471 patients have recovered from infection and 103 have died.

The National Health Service (NVD) said Latvia's hospitals have 309 patients being treated for coronavirus symptoms at the moment (down on 313 the previous day), of whom 294 are displaying moderate symptoms while 15 have serious symptoms (up from 12 the previous day).

On November 10, Estonia reported 128 new cases of coronavirus, and Lithuania reported 1,109 cases.

On November 9, the 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 of population was 178.0 in Latvia, 519.5 in Lithuania and 129.4 in Estonia, according to data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control
