Of 5,586 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 12% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population climbed from 522 Sunday to 540.2 Monday.
Fifteen more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All of the fatalities were aged over 60 years and four were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,594.
Monday data from the National Health Service show 561 patients being treated in hospital with 77 displaying serious symptoms.
In the other Baltic states, Estonia reported 232 new cases and 1 death while in Lithuania there were over 1,200 cases and 17 deaths.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
