Janssen vaccine available to general population in Latvia

The vaccine developed by Janssen will be available in the Rīga Central Market vaccination center on May 21 and 22, according to the Vaccination Project Bureau.

Applications for a time slot are already open on manavakcina.lv and by phone on 8989. Seniors can go to receive the vaccine without a prior application on both days from 9:00 to 10:00.

The Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine requires only one dose for the cycle to be completed, so its use is hoped to give a much-needed boost to completed vaccination rates. Protection is said to begin 14 days after receiving the shot.
