Latvia sees morbidity increase for second week

For the the second week in a row there is an increase in the incidence of Covid-19, according to data from Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) April 19.

Last week's rise against the week earlier is 6.4%, with 538 new cases detected on average a day.

There has been an increase in hospitalized patients for several weeks, with an average of 61 patients per day being hospitalized during the previous week.

The increase in morbidity is observed in all regions of Latvia.

For two weeks a growing trend is observed in almost all age groups, with the exception of the reduction in age group 70+.

The SPKC continues to call for special care in hand hygiene, correct use of the face mask (covering the nose and chin), remote work as far as possible, ventilation.
