By the end of the summer, Latvia will receive an additional 210 thousand doses of BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19, the Ministry of Health said April 15.

The additional vaccines, which are expected to start being delivered in the last week of April, will come to Latvia from a total of 50 million doses of BioNTech/Pfizer vaccines, which will be supplied by the manufacturer to the European Union (EU) in addition to the 200 million doses already provided for in the contract.

The Ministry recalled that on 1 April a so-called EU solidarity agreement was reached within the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States of the Council of the European Union (EU), which provides that Latvia will receive an additional 406 283 doses of BioNTech/Pfizer vaccines in the second quarter of this year.
