Of 4,144 newly-confirmed cases, 1,434 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 2,710 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 9,431 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 43.9% were positive, a figure consistent with recent days. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population hit another all-time high, but rose only very slightly from 6,847 Sunday to 6,866 Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic 522,766 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.
Unfortunately, five more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All of the victims were aged over 70 years. Two of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,029.
Sunday hospital data from the National Health Service show 1,145 patients being treated in hospitals (up on 1,064 on Saturday). 113 patients were admitted and 13 discharged during the previous 24 hours. 77 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
