On January 7, an E.Gulbja laboratory testing station has been unveiled at the Rīga International Airport, Laura Kulakova, airport representative, said.

The mobile testing station is located at the exit of the E arrival hall. Covid-19 tests can be done by travelers, airport guests and staff who have access to authentication tools recognized in Latvia - “Swedbank”, “SEB”, “Luminor” or “Citadele” Internet banks, e-ID or e-paraksts mobile, or Smart-ID.

Foreign nationals who do not have access to this authentication cannot use the station yet, but the airport, in cooperation with E.Gulbja laboratory, is working on solutions to create this possibility.

This is a paid service. When authorized and paid for, the customer receives a PIN code via SMS and email and can submit a sample of saliva following instructions.

The airport calls on departing passengers to take into account that the test result is not available immediately - the E.Gulbja laboratory sends it by email. Consequently, it is not possible to obtain the test result immediately prior to the flight.

The airport invites passengers to thoroughly study entry rules in the country of destination and to plan tests in time.

At the same time, the temporary Covid-19 testing point of “MFD Labs” continues working at the airport, in which all travelers arriving in Latvia from the United Kingdom can do the test free of charge.

Other contact-free testing stations are located at Stradiņš hospital (only for employees), at Brīvības gatve 366 (Rīga), and Kuldīga, Sūru iela 2.
