Last week, the pace of vaccination against Covid-19 fell nearly as low as in the week of Midsummer, when it was the lowest since March.
From July 26 to August 1, 33,590 people received a shot against Covid-19. A similar number of people received the first and second doses: 14,934 and 14,824, respectively, and 3,832 were given a single dose vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson (J & J).
An average of 4,799 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Latvia daily (5,403 a week earlier and 4,874 two weeks ago).
According to currently available NVD data, most people receive Pfizer/BioNTech, the second most used is Johnson & Johnson (J & J), followed by the second doses of Moderna and some AstraZeneca vaccines.
668,762 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, while 684,074 people have completed the vaccination process. Thus 35.43% of the population have received the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, while 36.24% of the population have completed the vaccination process. The proportion of the fully vaccinated population is slightly higher than the first-shot population, since the J & J vaccine requires only one dose after which the person is considered to be fully vaccinated.
