One in four Latvians commits to improving their health in 2024

Nearly a quarter, or 24% of the population, pledge to spend more time on their health - nutrition, sleep, rest, and other factors - in the new year, according to research company Kantar's survey conducted at the end of the year, LETA reports.

Around a fifth, or 18% of the population, pledge in the new year to devote more time to sport, and improve physical fitness, 15% of the population - to devote more time to family and loved ones, as well as learning new knowledge and skills. Meanwhile, 13 percent of residents in the New Year commit to travel.

11% of the respondents pledge to embrace new professional challenges - changing jobs, climbing up careers and the like, 11% to build savings, as well as 10% to devote more time to hobbies.

9% of the population commit to cutting spending as much as possible, being frugal, reducing or abandoning harmful habits (smoking, alcohol, unhealthy diets, and the like), and 8% commit to settling indebtedness.

6% of the population commit to finding work next year, as well as devoting less time to social networks, and surfing on the internet, followed by a commitment to finding lifelong love (4%), understanding the meaning of life, their mission on earth (4%), starting planning their budget (3%), expecting family growth (3%), getting married (2%).

12% of the respondents said they don't commit to anything because they are fine the same way, while 8% of the population have said they don't commit to anything so they aren't disappointed afterward.

Kantar conducted the survey between December 19 and 21 2023, interviewing 800 Latvian residents via the Internet.
