It was initially proposed to double the passport fee, which would mean paying EUR 60 instead of the current EUR 30.
The final decision on this will have to be made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is also planned to maintain relief for persons who are fully dependent on the State or local government, young people under the age of 20, pensioners, persons with Group I or II disability, refugees, and persons who have been granted alternative status.
Part of the costs of the previously planned State fee, such as certification service expenses related to document security, and investments in technologies to ensure the preparation of documents, is planned to be covered by attracting financing from other sources, including European Union (EU) funds and the State budget.
