1,000 NATO troops to fire a Silver Arrow

In September, Silver Arrow 2015 military exercise will be organized in Latvia with participation of more than 1,000 foreign troops, officials have confirmed.

Silver Arrow 2015 is a joint military exercise of the Latvian National Armed Forces and foreign army units, and it will be held on September 14-29.

It will take the form of a land force exercise with participation of armed forces from Latvia, Denmark, Canada, Germany, the US and the UK designed improve cooperation among NATO member states, prepare and improve skills in conventional operations and other drills.

It is planned that more than 1,000 foreign troops will take part in the exercise.

Under the Latvian law on Latvian troops' participation in joint military exercises in Latvia's territory, all exercises that are held with the participation of more than 500 foreign soldiers must be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
