Government gives more money to Ukrainian support in Latvia

On Tuesday, October 17, the government decided to allocate an additional €10.3 million to support Ukrainian refugees, LETA reports.

The funds are necessary in order to provide local governments with reimbursement of expenses between July and November. This financing compensates expenses incurred by local governments in ensuring support to Ukrainian residents, including the provision of accommodation and food, provision of social support, education, support for applying for public administration services, operation of joint coordination points of support provided by State and local governments, etc.

More than EUR 10 million is needed in addition.

As a result, the total funding allocated this year for this purpose will be just under EUR 32.2 million.
