As previously reported by LSM, rapidly-enacted amendments to the law mean that vehicles seized from very drunk drivers can be confiscated and, if they are deemed to be potentially useful to Ukraine in its defense against Russian warmongering, the vehicles can be sent there as a form of aid.
Dozens of vehicles have already been sent and with the Midsummer celebrations approaching – when police ramp up their efforts to catch intoxicated drivers – coming months are likely to see many more transporters heading south in the direction of Kyiv.
🚗Ukrainas valdības institūcijām tiks nodotas vēl 11 Latvijā konfiscētās automašīnas.
