In Rīga, Brīvības Alley opposite the government building, pairs of shoes are laid out symbolizing women dying violent deaths.
Everyone has been invited to bring a pair of shoes to the alley, with which they would like to remind the public and government of the need to eradicate violence, the organizers said.
According to the information at the disposal of the association, one in three Latvian women has experienced psychological, physical, or sexual violence or a combination of several forms of violence in a relationship.
