On Tuesday the US Federal Aviation Administration ruled to stop all American passenger flights to Israel for a 24-hour period. Other airlines from Germany, France, the Netherlands and Canada have also cancelled their Israel routes for now, citing the safety of passengers and crews as paramount.
Janis Vanags, a spokesman for Latvia’s national airline, told LTV morning news that it was regrettable to put passengers through the inconvenience and urged those planning to fly to Tel Aviv Wednesday to contact the company, which will seek to arrange alternative solutions for each individual case.
airBaltic will decide every day from now on whether or not to cancel the Tel Aviv flight based on daily assessments of the security situation in the region.
