The camera was set up just Thursday and has apparently gone offline now, but not before users snapped screenshots with the amazing egg from which hopefully something good will emerge.
Lately the goshawk female had been spending serious time in the nest, alerting bird enthusiasts about the expected arrival of an egg.
The nest was discovered three years ago in a Rīga industrial region. A total of seven young have left the nest since.
Last year however a crow ate the eggs after the young male hawk could not provide the incubating female with food.
The Latvian Fund for Nature is providing livestreams from rare birds nests for the fifth year now.
