More than 80 soldiers will participate with the support of two Latvian air force Mi-17 helicopters and the naval ship Virsaitis.
"This exercise aims to train crew to leave an aircraft in distress in the water and to use available rescue equipment to remain afloat for at least one hour," the ministry said.
Both the Naval Training Center and the sea off Liepaja will be used for the exercises, which have taken place annually since 2004 with each of the Baltic states hosting in turn.
Both air crew and rescue teams will be using the exercise to hone their skills.
